Jurassic BACK!! Fourth Jurassic Park movie gets an official title… Jurassic World

The original Jurassic Park movie, released in 1993 and directed by Steven Spielberg, defined adventure films for the 20th Century.

Its nail-biting, gripping story line and of-the-time effects all helped win its three Oscars.

And now 20 years later, with two sequels already made, Universal bosses have confirmed the name of the latest installment in the franchise – Jurassic World.

The fourth Jurassic Park film was originally just given the presumed title Jurassic Park 4, but now fans of the movies will be thrilled to find out its official title.

With Colin Trevorrow confirmed as director, and working with Derek Connolly on the screenplay, along with Steven Spielberg as executive producer, this film, due for release in 2015, is set to be another Jurassic epic.

Trevorrow directed the budget sci-fi comedy Safety Not Guaranteed in 2012 (of which Connolly wrote the screenplay).

And speaking about the upcoming sequel recently, Trevorrow teased fans that there will be a new breed of dinosaur making an appearance in the film.

He said: ‘We have a new one that’s pretty cool. I’m not going to tell you anything about it, but… it’s pretty badass.’

The film follows a story of three magazine employees who interview a man who wants to time travel.

Jurassic World, which will be released on Friday, June 12 2015 in 3D, follows the success of Jurassic Park (1993), The Lost World (1997) and Jurassic Park 3 (2001).

To date, the three films have taken a combined $1.9billion of box office sales, and it was reported that the re-release this year of the original film has generated $114million.

Following the confirmation of the title, the Twitter account for the new film, @JurassicPark_4, posted to its 2,145 followers: ‘The next Jurassic Park film will be titled JURASSIC WORLD – Hitting theaters June 12th, 2015!’
