Message To A Teenage Me

Dear Teenage Alan,

I know life seems boring at times and all you seem to do is doss around with friends in-between going to school, or avoiding going to school but try and enjoy it while you’ve got it.

I know you’re fed up of hearing the boring cliché’s that…

YOU’VE NEVER HAD IT SO GOOD
SCHOOL IS THE BEST TIME OF YOUR LIFE
and YOU’LL MISS IT WHEN YOU’RE DONE

… but it is true.

You might not see it now but in 5-10 years time you will have days when you long for your childhood.

You have may ups and downs to face in the coming years and I am sorry you say you will lose people you love, either perminately or slowly over time but I PROMISE although you hurt to start with and it feels like the end of the world, you will survive.

Friends will be there for you to help you but remember only true friends will pick you up when you fall down and its not a popularity contest in the adult world…

ITS NOT HOW MANY FRIENDS YOU HAVE but HOW MANY FRIENDS WILL TAKE A BULLET FOR YOU when you truly need it.

DON’T BE AFRAID TO FALL IN LOVE. These are some of the happiest days in your life and you will cherish those moments forever. HOWEVER sometimes you may need to sift through the bad bits when you look back but that’s life as people grow up, people change and rose tinted glasses can hide many cracks in a persons personality you may not see when you are a loved up puppy – Do’nt be reckless with other peoples hearts, don’t put up with people who are reckless with yours.

REACH FOR THE STARS – You are young and you can succeed in anything as long as you truly want it and work for it. You don’t learn unless you are willing to try.

ENJOY YOURSELF but don’t be IMPATIENT.Good things come to those who wait. Just because you can get an iPhone on credit for a stupidly high monthly fee doesn’t mean you should. You will cause much less stress for yourself if you save up and buy it properly.

DON’T STRESS ABOUT THINGS – Stressing is about as affective as solving an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum – Things have a way of working themselves out over time and don’t ever be afraid to ask for help. You don’t have to suffer alone.

DON’T LET OTHER PEOPLE BRING YOU DOWN – You will have enough personal hang ups in life for you to worry about you don’t need to worry about how other people thing they see you. Friends and Family are your rocks and negative comments you should just take with a pinch of salt.

GROW YOUR HAIR and BE YOURSELF – Why not try share your thoughts on YouTube a little – you’ll make some fantastic friends 🙂

I hope this helps you as well as the Teenage Me.

What are your best tips or me, yourself or your teenage you?

US actor Robin Williams found dead at home | Possible Suicide?

US actor and comedian Robin Williams has been found dead, aged 63, in an apparent suicide.

Marin County Police in California said he was pronounced dead at his home shortly after officials responded to an emergency call around noon local time.

Williams was famous for such films as Good Morning Vietnam and Dead Poets Society and won an Oscar for his role in Good Will Hunting.

His publicist said he had been “battling severe depression”.

In the past he had talked, and even joked, about his struggles with alcohol and drugs.

Williams had recently returned to a rehabilitation centre to “fine-tune” his sobriety, the Los Angeles Times reported in July.

“At this time, the Sheriff’s Office Coroner Division suspects the death to be a suicide due to asphyxia, but a comprehensive investigation must be completed before a final determination is made,” police said in a statement.

In a statement, Williams’ wife, Susan Schneider, said she was “utterly heartbroken”.

“On behalf of Robin’s family, we are asking for privacy during our time of profound grief. As he is remembered, it is our hope the focus will not be on Robin’s death, but on the countless moments of joy and laughter he gave to millions.”

illiams had three children from previous marriages.

Born in Chicago, Illinois in 1951, Williams joined the drama club in high school and was accepted into Juilliard School in New York, the prestigious American academy for the arts.

There, he was encouraged by a teacher to pursue comedy.

The actor was first known for his zany portrayal of an alien in the 1970s TV show Mork and Mindy, a character first seen in the sitcom Happy Days.

He was a regular stand-up comedian while continuing to act in such films as Good Morning Vietnam, Dead Poets Society, Mrs Doubtfire and as the voice of the genie in Aladdin.

While many of his roles were in comedies, Williams won the Oscar in 1998 for best supporting actor as a therapist in Good Will Hunting.

President Barack Obama was one of many offering condolences to his family when he said: “Williams arrived in our lives as an alien – but he ended up touching every element of the human spirit.

“He made us laugh. He made us cry. He gave his immeasurable talent freely and generously to those who needed it most – from our troops stationed abroad to the marginalised on our own streets.”

Fellow comedian Steve Martin tweeted he “could not be more stunned by the loss of Robin Williams, mensch, great talent, acting partner, genuine soul.”

Martin and Williams appeared on stage together during an 1988 Broadway revival of Waiting for Godot.

Comedian and talk show host Ellen de Generes tweeted: “I can’t believe the news about Robin Williams. He gave so much to so many people. I’m heartbroken.
